Downtown Atlanta Groups are Seeking Opportunities to Transform Vacant Office Space into Housing

Likely this headline comes as no surprise in a post- pandemic world where many are still working from home. So what will happen to the real estate?

There are ongoing efforts in Atlanta to convert office spaces into residential units, particularly in areas like Downtown and Midtown. Some notable projects include the conversion of the former Equitable building into apartments and the transformation of the historic Olympia Building and Grant Building (which is the second oldest steel-frame structure left standing in Atlanta) into a mixed-use development with apartments. Additionally, there are proposed projects such as the redevelopment of the former Georgia Power headquarters into a mixed-use development with residential units.

You can read more about these projects here and here.
